Description
Oil on clear primed linen canvas.
This is an oil on linen canvas inspired from a Sunday-Easter walk on the canal towpath. This beautiful and curious young swan followed me for a while and the late afternoon light we were enjoying together was spectacular.
To capture the beauty of the swan and the light I used a mixture of both Michael Harding and Winsor & Newton oils applied in layers. To capture the water, I used a medium of varnish, linseed oil, and turpentine. The edges are painted in a pleasing light dusky blue.
