Pussy Cats I – Favourite Things

Ink on watercolour paper. Pussy Cats is a unique style of fine art painting and is part of my new collection called 'Favourite Things' which delves into the aspects of life that bring joy—in this case, animals! 

With this style of artwork, I create the background ink study first. Then, looking at the abstract, I decide on how best to incorporate a theme into the space available. In this particular piece, the colours and patterns inspired me to a cats scene, and I have used the ink patterns to inspire the perspective. 

I used a traditional brush based work and high-quality lightfast inks on hand-made watercolour paper with an abstracted background. This has been painted in acrylic inks on specialist Two Rivers hand pressed 300GSM paper.
