Oil Painting on Board
Spent the day painting out with the Royal Oil Institute friends at Portsmouth Harbour. I started this painting with a substructure of palette knife abstract painting. Then added in the detail and refinements of the days scene on top.
I'm increasingly interested in using abstract bases as the foundations for details of sections of an image and landscape before me. Strickly speaking this takes it away from being a purist plein air painting. But it does give it an edginess on completion.
I hope you like it and appreciate its querky and stylistic nature.
30 x 30cm on oil on board.
It can be framed for £60 but comes unframed for this price.
