Description
Oil on clear primed linen canvas.
I had been on a five-day painting trip in the Norfolk Broads hosted by 'A Brush With The Broads' event. We had our canvases stamped to authenticate the timing it was made. We set about our four days as we wished to create our pieces on the broads.
This year, I stayed in Ranworth Broad and created a range of pieces both here and elsewhere. This one was created on the day of exhibition at How Hill. The weather wasn’t too great but at least it didn't rain and made for this very subdued but lovely coloured painting. I think it really reflects the feeling and light of the day. Plein air painting is supposed to be about giving a sense of the place at that time and spotting details you might otherwise miss in a photograph.
