Description
This view of Guildford high street is a unique style of fine art drawing.
I used a traditional nib based pen and high quality lightfast inks on hand-made watercolour paper with an abstracted background.
This has been painted in Acrylic inks on specialist Two Rivers hand pressed 300GSM paper and created in the studio.
With this style of artwork I create the background ink study first and then looking at the abstract I decide on how best to incorporate a landscape into the spaces available. Rather like looking at clouds, I let the composition of the abstract dictate the outcome to some extent. Adding tonal value to enhance the drawing and to utilise the abstract pattern behind. I call this cross over of Abstraction and realism - Abstrealism.
