Description
Acrylic inks on Two Rivers hand-pressed paper.
It’s not often that one gets special rooftop access to paint the changing of the guards in the lower ward of Windsor Castle. This piece was painted from the guard’s rooftop.
I'm well known for this stylistic type of abstract background with ink drawn details. This art collection is based upon my experiences in the town of Windsor, Berkshire. It’s eight miles from my home and host to The Gallery at Ice, a personal favourite gallery that holds some of my work. These pieces are hand drawn from both observational art on location and of photographic reference. I'm heavily influenced by the works of the 18th Century etching engravers. I like to think these have an old-world charm about them.
I am luck enough to have taken part in the Windsor Plein Air competition for a number of years and have come in second and third with this year being highly commended for my artwork.
This piece was made with lightfast inks on Two Rivers specialist 300gsm handmade paper.
