Description
Oils on board.
On 21st September 2022, I organised a plein air painting event which included spending a day in London. There was fencing everywhere on the South Bank from the lying in state queues in the wake of the Queen’s passing.
I used more pastel shades for to emphasise the calm and serene scene in the wake of the Queen’s funeral. While painting, I realised I had forgotten my pointed palette knife, so I experimented with my square ended one, hence the slightly different mark making to this piece.
