Description
Acrylic inks on Two Rivers hand-pressed paper.
There is something so relaxing about working on an allotment and it brings a lot of joy to a lot of people. I have fond memories of having one when I was 12 and living in Wales. These sheds are local to me and on our Horsell allotments. I wanted to create a composition that was pleasing and took the most interesting ones together. The bicycles are a symbol of life in and around them.
These pieces are painted in dip ink pen with washes of ink. I used Ph Martin Lightfast Inks on Two rivers paper 400GSM (so beautifully rough in appearance) and framed the piece in a modern deckled edge style with non reflective glass. The frame is a cream Brompton Wood Frame.
Much care and attention is taken in packaging my work for both national and international deliveries. This item will be packaged firstly with an acid-free tissue paper to ensure a protective layer and is then sealed in clear plastic cellophane. All corners are protected with cardboard corner protectors. It is then finished with a triple wrapping of bubble wrap with two cardboard sheets and placed into another cardboard covering.
