Hannah Bruce Art
To introduce myself, I am Hannah Bruce, a professional artist and I have been a resident of our wonderful village Horsell for over 10 years.
I make professional Fine Art across a number of mediums and (outside lockdown) I have been showcasing my work at Heather Farm during the first week of every month. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my work with the village and it is an extra benefit that the Horsell Common Preservation Society receives charitable contributions from my sales there. I am a very friendly person and will always communicate with you via email, Facebook, Instagram. My website is hannahbruce.co.uk
I have always been passionate about Art and Art Education and the positive wellbeing benefits it brings to all of us; art, craft, music all sooth the soul.
Upon completion my art education at Aberystwyth and Cambridge, I was an art teacher and Head of Art in secondary education from age 21 to 34. It is when my son was born a micro premature baby at 26 weeks, and wishing to be at home more to enjoy him, that I started to move away from full-time teaching and became a part time professional Artist in 2014 and to cut a long story short it has gone onwards and upwards from there. I’ve now been painting full-time for about 6 years.. excepting home schooling of course! I thoroughly enjoy being the custodian of my own time as this has enabled me to paint ‘en plein air’ (outdoor painting) at events and to take on local community art projects, for which there have been many. An exciting one being organised now, post-lockdown, is to support a youth group in painting the bridge from Morrisons over the railway.
One of the most satisfying aspects of my work is that I make art pieces that are being appreciated and sold all over the world. Some are commissions for bespoke works in a range of styles. I usually need about three months’ notice to complete a unique piece of work, as I have commissions coming in all the time. I always give professional quotes setting out clearly fees, timescales, materials and delivery arrangements prior to taking on work.
My most popular works are landscapes, still life realism for kitchens, vibrant resin pour abstracts, and fine ink drawings of animals on handmade cotton and rag watercolour paper. I have the equipment and skill set for framing these works too.
My current aspirations for Hannah Bruce Art is develop further on what was successfully establish up to March last year; group lessons in using art resin, how to upcycle, and helping people to develop their skills in acrylic/oil painting and printmaking. I have just signed up to have a studio space and classroom at Unit SU2B First Floor, Lansbury Business Estate,
Knaphill (lots of on-site free parking and just across the yard from the Woking Hospice Depot.) and I am really very excited to be moving in on March 1st, 2021 and able to paint in much larger scale.
If you are interested in my art, whether for lessons or commissions then please do get in touch. Send me your email if you’d like to be on my contact list for lessons and/or for my exhibitions as and when they happen. I look forward to meeting you.
