Be the lead learner and you’ll always make fantastic headway in your art career; so I said to hubby ” I’d love to have a lesson with Adebanji”. As a birthday surprise, he organised me a lovely half day workshop with him. I have just had the delightful day. All our artistic needs are different and Adebanji was happy to cater to what I wanted to learn. I’ve never been formally taught portrait painting and I wanted to learn his approach to this. Such an interesting and informative few hours which really made me centre on what was important to my professional Art growth. Drawing is fundamental to his work and it’s clear that his excellence comes from this foundation. Even if you can do it, do you spend enough time on it? I was intrigued to hear and see how he approaches his colour and application of paint. There is nothing like watching and listening to a motivational artist at work. Which is what is brilliant about him; the ability to talk and explain his processes. Also, Adebanji always makes for wonderful company, which is an added bonus. If you love what you do, nothing will stand in your way.
